Advanced First Aid (Level 3) – Refresher – Length: 36 hours; Fri in wk 1 & Mon-Fri in wk 2; Price: $700 +GST; Call for details.
The WorkSafeBC Advanced First Aid Level 3 Renewal course is designed for prior Level 3 ticket holders (Level 3 ticket cannot be expired).
Successful candidates must achieve 70% or higher on both practical and written exams. Participants must attend day 5 of the first week of the regular course (Friday) and the 2nd week of training (Monday to Friday). Exams are conducted on day 5 (CPR) and day 10 of the course.
To renew an advanced first aid certificate (formerly OFA Level 3), you can do one of the following:
- Take a 35-hour refresher class.
- Challenge the examination, which is the final 14 hours of the full advanced level training course. To qualify for the exam challenge, your advanced or OFA Level 3 certificate must be valid (not expired), and you must have obtained a CPR/AED certificate within the previous 6 months.
If your certificate has expired, you will need to retake the full course and examination.
Course fees include: Printed Manual & Binder, 1 Pocket mask in a hard shell & 3 year certification.
Participants MUST HAVE a strong knowledge of theory and strong practical skills as there is limited instruction. This course focuses on a review and practice of OFA level three skills and protocols.
